BayCon 2009: Welcome to the Light of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Steampunk at Pyrocumulon

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

For the love of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Steampunk, Laurel Anne Hill (Author of "Heroes Arise") and her husband, David, snapped plenty of photos at BayCon 2009 over the Memorial Day Weekend.  This slide show is the result.  Welcome to the Lost Sky City of Pyrocumulon.  (In case you wonder why I've got such a sour expression in one photo, I played "The World's Deadliest Librarian" in a zany fan movie filmed at BayCon this year.)  Be sure to visit my website at http://www.laurelannehill.com

Name that dragon and win a copy of "Heroes Arise" by Laurel Anne Hill

Thursday, May 21st, 2009
  • All right, what am I going to name my three-headed dragon puppet?  The Three Tenors?  The Three-Headed Tweep?  I’m offering an autographed copy of my novel, “Heroes Arise,” to the person who dreams up the best name for my dragon.  For the love of science fiction and fantasy, send me your suggestions.  Keep it clean, please.

    Quoth the Maven, Evermore!

    Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Good morning from the maven with the raven.  A special hello to the students at Monacan High in Richmond, Virginia.  I really enjoyed meeting you and am glad the boxes of "Heroes Arise" arrived safely.  Please visit my website (http://www.laurelannehill.com) and tell me what you think about my story.  You may leave your comments there or on this blog.

A special congratulations to Robert J Sawyer.  ABC has placed an initial order for 13 episodes of the TV series  FLASH FORWARD based on his novel of the same name.  This is fantastic news.  Robert is a wonderful person and was kind enough to endorse my parable, "Heroes Arise."  This series is on my "must see" list.

I'll be a guest at BayCon over the Memorial Day Weekend and am looking forward to panels, mentoring at the writers' workshop and working on creating my next slide show.  Follow the link below to see my slide show of RavenCon.
