Compare the Vampires in my Bedroom Closet (by Laurel Anne Hill, Author of "Heroes Arise")

Yesterday, I posted my latest podcast on Welcome to My Bedroom Closet, http://www.laurelannehill.libsyn.com.

This 7-1/2 minute offering describes some of the techniques I used to improve my writing between 1997 and 2005.   I compare my two vampire coming of age stories ("Eternal Poetry" and "Real Vampires Don't Snore") to give examples.  I wrote "Real Vampires Don't Snore" in 1997 and "Eternal Poetry" in 2005.

You can also subscribe to my podcasts for free on iTunes.  Search on "Laurel Anne Hill."  And please visit my website at http://www.laurelannehill.com

Real Vampires Don't Snore (award-winning short story by Laurel Anne Hill)

I've now posted my award-winning short story, "Real Vampires Don't Snore" to my podcast site:  www.laurelannehill.libsyn.com.  "Calliope Magazine" first published "Real Vampires Don't Snore" in 1997 and recently re-released the story due to popular demand.  My sense of humor itched when I wrote "Real Vampires Don't Snore."  Being a mother of a teen, I had to scratch that itch and laugh.

Please note that my next podcast episode will feature my comparison of my two vampire coming of age stories (both humorous), "Eternal Poetry" and "Real Vampires Don't Snore."  I'll also relate how and why my writing changed between 1997 and 2005.

If you like my podcast, please subscribe free via iTunes.  And don't forget to check out my website, including information about my award-winning novel, "Heroes Arise."  Go to http://www.laurelannehill.com.

My Vampires Don't Sparkle. They Snore. (by Laurel Anne Hill, Author of "Heroes Arise")

Okay, everyone, I've now posted the concluding half of "Eternal Poetry" on my podcast site (www.laurelannehill.libsyn.com), also available for free on iTunes.  "Eternal Poetry" is a vampire romance and coming of age tale, published by "Nth Zine (Online Exclusives)" in 2005.  Next week I plan to record "Real Vampires Don't Snore," published a number of years ago by "Calliope" and again last year due to popular request.

Both "Eternal Poetry" and "Real Vampires Don't Snore" look at romance and family relationships from a young, supernatural woman's point of view.  My vampires don't sparkle in the sun or play baseball during thunder storms.  They break the vampire stereotypes in their own ways.

In October, I plan to compare the writing of "Eternal Poetry" and "Real Vampires Don't Snore."  I'll discuss the writing techniques I use now versus the ones I used 10-12 years ago.

For more information about me and my compelling fiction and creative nonfiction (including my award-winning novel, "Heroes Arise"), please visit my website at http://www.laurelannehill.com.

FlashForward is a Winner! (by Laurel Anne Hill, Author of "Heroes Arise")

Okay, I'm hooked.  I've avoided network serials for years.  No longer.  It will be FlashForward every Thursday night at my place for the duration.  Oh, how the mighty have fallen.  And, man, am I glad.

Congratulations to Robert J. Sawyer.
