Writing and reading have totally sucked up my time these past two months. Persistent folks may have sighted me on Facebook a few times. My blog, however, has grown cobwebs—and not for Halloween.
No need to notify the missing authors department. Here’s a quick update on my activities. I’m alive and well and living in the State of Confusion.

WHERE I’VE BEEN
Saturday, October 3: Laurel Anne Hill met Ann Robinson (Star of War of the Worlds) at the Rheem Theater Science Fiction Day in Moraga, California. The program included It Came from Outer Space (1953), The Thing from Another World (1951), Forbidden Planet (1956) War of the Worlds (1953), and one hell of a lot of popcorn. Now I just have to figure out how to get the photos off of my %&$#@!!! vintage 2007 cell phone.
Saturday, September 19: Laurel Anne Hill joined approximately 470 Polytechnic High School alumni and friends for lunch at the Irish Cultural Center in San Francisco, California. Polytechnic High School, established in 1894, closed in 1972. Pretty damn good for a school forced to shut its doors over forty years ago.
Friday, September 25: Laurel Anne Hill joined other local authors (All Borderlands Books sponsors) for readings at Borderlands Books in San Francisco, California (http://www.borderlands-books.com/). Laurel read the opening of her steampunk/horror short story, Beware the Nine, published in the How Beer Saved the World anthology. Diverse stories at the gathering and great readings were enjoyed by all. Guess who forgot her camera?
Monday, September 7: Passenger Laurel Anne Hill climbed aboard her favorite steam train as Engine 2472 made its last run through Niles Canyon in California. Golden Gate Railroad Museum (www.ggrm.org), the owner of Engine 2472, will soon move to a new “home” in Northern California.
