Here's a new way of looking at the magic of the theater, Broadway and the world of dance.
Nth Zine published my short story, "Champagne and Balducci's," this week. "Champagne and Balducci's" is a fantasy about a second-rate dancer (and Broadway show hopeful) in New York City, a mysterious young woman and the apparition of the deceased choreographer, Bob Fosse. I did most of the reseach for "Champagne and Balducci's" when my daughter was a student at New York University/Tish. Naturally, I had to attend a Fosse review at the Broadhurst Theater and make plenty of visits to Balducci's gourmet deli. I won't reveal, however, which third-rate hotel I used as a model for my main character's apartment.
You don't have to be a fantasy/science fiction fan to appreciate "Champagne and Balducci's."
